Infrastructure

Colonization surged infrastructure that was not created with Indigenous communities in mind. As a result, Indigenous Peoples were forced to travel away from home to have access to essential resources and services. Isolated communities lost important elders and youth, working adults drastically affecting their ability to preserve or enhance their culture.

WRF is seeking applications from Indigenous communities that are unsuccessful with government grants and funding and in need of financial support for infrastructure projects such as but not limited to:

  • Clean drinking water
  • School upgrades
  • Roads & transportation
  • Wastewater systems
  • Clean power generation
  • Building construction
  • Activity areas and structures
  • Revitalization of existing infrastructures
